In Greek mythology, the Makhai (“battles”) were the daemons (spirits) of battle and combat, and were sons or daughters of Eris. Some of their names were: Homados (Battle-Noise), Alala (War-Cry), Proioxis (Onrush), Palioxis (Backrush) and Kydoimos (Confusion)
